6% of U.S. Homepages Link to Facebook

According to Comscore, Facebook accounts for 6% of primary homepages in the U.S. in the third quarter of 2010.  ComScore was unable to provide similar data for other Web sites, but Google is widely believed to be among the most popular homepage options on the Web.

The Wall Street Journal reports that, over the next several weeks, Facebook plans to introduce a bar that encourages users to make Facebook their default home page.
