Steve is a software craftsman, aspiring digital humanities scholar, and entrepreneur. He does a lot of work in the open source world, maintaining the Hackety Hack and Shoes projects.
He also started and works on rstat.us, a new open source, distributed microblogging platform. He believes that communications methods are too important for any one entity to control, and so it’s built on 100% open standards, so that it can work with anyone else who uses the ostatus protocol, including status.net and Disapora.
