Instagram Reaches 80 Million Users
Mobile photo-sharing app Instagram now has over 80 million users, according to Instagram’s blog. Growth has continued to expand since the app was acquired by Facebook in April 2012, just a few days after the launch of Instagram for Android.
According to Instagram:
“We’re excited to announce that the Instagram community has grown to over 80 million registered users who have shared nearly 4 billion photos! Since we launched Instagram in October 2010, we’ve expanded from one platform to two, bringing Instagram to Android users as well as iOS users.”
In less than three months, 30 million new users have started using the app.
CNET has a breakdown of user numbers for the mobile-only app – from Instagram’s launch in October 2010 up to this latest announcement – and speculates that it won’t take long to reach 100 million users.
