Twitter Dominates Media Attention Among Social Networks
New data from HighBeam Research reveals that among social networking platforms, Twitter still dominates media mentions. Out of the eight social networks examined, Twitter earned 55.8% of media mentions in September 2012.
Facebook came in second place with 40% of media mentions, followed by a huge gap before third most popular LinkedIn, with just 1.57% of mentions. Pinterest, Instagram, MySpace, Foursquare and Google+ all received less than 1% of media mentions, although the search for Google+ was performed as “Google Plus” (and therefore may not contain all media mentions).
