LinkedIn Tops 200 Million Users
This week, LinkedIn announced that the social networking platform now has over 200 million users, in 200 countries and 19 languages around the world.
Four years ago, LinkedIn had only 32 million users. The platform hit 100 million users in March 2011 (Adweek), and now has doubled that number in less than two years. The company says it is now picking up two new users per second, or 172,800 per day.
LinkedIn also released an infographic showing where these users reside: seventy-four million are in the United States, 18 million live in India, 11 million live in the United Kingdom and Brazil, and 7 million are Canadian.
LinkedIn is growing fastest in Turkey, Colombia and Indonesia among desktop users. Mobile usage of the site is rapidly expanding in China, Brazil, Portugal, India and Italy.
