Facebook Has 751 Million Monthly Active Users on Mobile
Facebook released its first-quarter earnings report on Wednesday, showing strong mobile growth once again. Here are the highlights:
- 751 million monthly active users on mobile, a 54% increase year-over-year
- 1.11 billion monthly active users in the quarter, a 23% increase year-over-year
- 665 million daily active users
- mobile ad revenue now accounts for 30% of Facebook’s total ad revenue, up from 23% in Q4 2012
However, AllThingsD points out that “growth rate has seen a slow decline over the past year, as the company has penetrated deeper into countries like the U.S. and Europe.” The company will now have to focus its growth efforts elsewhere — including Asia.
While user growth may be slowing, engagement is still growing. Daily active users as a percentage of monthly active users rose to about 60%, compared to 55% back in Q1 of 2011.
