News Site Referrals From Reddit Are On The Rise
Online editors say that social site Reddit has increased significantly as a referral source for news sites, according to Poynter.
At McClatchy Interactive, a particular story in Charlotte saw huge traffic on Reddit. Then, a monthly report revealed that Reddit had climbed from #22 all the way up to #10 as a referral site.
Referrals from Reddit doubled in 2013 (over the previous year), according to an online editor at the Santa Cruz Sentinel. Reddit is now #15 in referrals for the site.
The Denver Post has seen a 300% increase in referrals from Reddit in the first 5 months of 2013 (compared to the same period last year), a social media editor reports; that brings Reddit up to #11 in referrals (up from #21 last year).
