The Vine community currently has more than 13 million users, according to a Twitter blog post on Monday. The post announced that Vine for Android is now available — and it means that Vine is sure to see user numbers skyrocket as Android users download the video sharing app. Topsy estimates that, on average, Vine users post 12 million videos on Twitter every day (as reported by The New York Times).
Android users running 4.0 or higher can download the app from Google Play. Users should expect to see frequent updates over the coming weeks, as the Android app picks up additional features that are already on the iOS version.
Vine, Twitter’s 6-second (looping) video sharing service, was launched back in January of this year. It has seen impressive growth in just four months, and has also been quickly adopted by brands as a powerful (and often creative) marketing tool. Check out this fun example from Doritos:
