- Facebook for iOS 7 — now with more tabs – Facebook updated its mobile app for the iOS7 release last week, including the addition of a row of tabs at the bottom of the screen (AllThingsD)
YouTube
- YouTube will add offline viewing to its mobile apps in November – viewers will soon be able to watch YouTube videos without an internet connection; users will be able to save videos for up to 48 hours, and creators can choose whether or not to enable offline viewing for their videos (GigaOM)
- Pinterest promises it won’t mess up the site with ads (oh, and it’s going to do ads) – Pinterest is debuting ads on the site, called “Promoted Pins,” allowing brands to pay for their pins to appear near the top of search results and category feeds; Pinterest will be testing the ads (for free) over the next few weeks and gathering user feedback (AdAge)
Tumblr
- DataSift signs deal with Tumblr – analytics company DataSift signed a deal with Yahoo (which owns Tumblr) to analyze realtime and archived data from Tumblr posts, offering insights and sentiment analysis for Datasift customers
