- Twitter self-serve ads expand to U.K., Ireland and Canada – Twitter opened its self-service ads platform to small businesses in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Canada, six months after doing so in the US (AdWeek)
- Twitter now lets advertisers target users by mobile OS version, mobile device & wi-fi connectivity – Twitter expanded ad targeting capabilities last week, allowing marketers to target users based not just on mobile operating system, but also by device and wi-fi connectivity (TechCrunch)
- Twitter lets users build timelines around TV shows, news – Twitter users can now create customized news feeds around real-time events; these custom timelines will help users surface the “most noteworthy, relevant tweets” around conversations, television shows or breaking news (Bloomberg)
- American Express to sponsor Fox TV clips promoted through Twitter Amplify – Fox is bringing American Express-sponsored video clips of several of its top shows to Twitter; the content will be marked as promoted by AmEx, as well as short pre-roll video ads running before each clip (Marketing Land)
Vine
- Vine comes to Windows Phone – last week Vine introduced a Windows Phone app; it includes the same video-editing features as the iOS and Android versions, plus several Windows Phone-specific options (AllThingsD)
YouTube
- YouTube Capture gets editing features, now responsible for a third of all iOS uploads – YouTube has updated its iOS Capture app, adding editing features including the ability to trim clips and combine multiple clips to a single video (GigaOM)
- LinkedIn kicks off its Pulse integration – LinkedIn has fully integrated social newsreader app Pulse into its mobile and Web properties; users will be prompted to sync their LinkedIn profiles with their Pulse accounts after downloading the app (AllThingsD)
- Pinterest launches its first API, and it’s all about big brands – Pinterest released its first API for developers, allowing third-party sites to embed Pinterest pins and making it easier to post content into Pinterest; first partners include Zappos, Walmart, Disney, Nestle, Random House and Hearst (TechCrunch
