- Twitter Promoted-Account ads for mobile go mainstream – Twitter’s promoted accounts ad product will now appear in users’ main timelines on mobile (AllThingsD)
- Twitter amps up its mobile emergency alert system – Twitter’s crisis alert system got an upgrade, including a new “bell” icon that allows users to sign up for alerts (as texts, tweets, or push notifications) from specific agencies, and has expanded to include four new countries (CNET)
Vine
- Twitter to launch vanity URLs for Vine users’ profiles on Dec. 20 – beginning last Friday, verified users on Twitter could register for Vanity URLs for their Vine profile; non-verified users had to wait until Monday (CNET)
- Twitter updates Vine adding long-requested ‘Hide Revine’ feature – Twitter’s latest update to Vine allows users to hide “revines” when browing through a user’s profile (AppAdvice)
Snapchat
- Snapchat adds filters, a replay function and for whatever reason, time, temperature and speed overlays – last Friday Snapchat released an app update, including color filters, a new ‘special text’ font, and more (TechCrunch)
