Ginny founded her public relations and marketing agency following a long and varied career that spanned banking, retail sales and merchandising, real estate and human resources. She was the editor, writer and photographer for a community newspaper when double-lens reflex cameras were the “new” technology! Before it was mainstream to do so, she spent ten years home educating two of her children, teaching them from kindergarten through early high school.
In 2002 she discovered her passion for marketing and public relations, spending three years with a luxury waterfront real estate and environmental developer and two more as a director of marketing and business development for an architectural firm.
Ginny’s exceptional creativity was showcased and leadership skills honed through both her corporate experience and extensive volunteer work with community theatrical productions and special events. She launched Divine Events and Marketing in 2005 and rebranded the agency as The Cooper Group in 2009 with an emphasis on traditional and new media public relations, as event marketing in the Southwest Florida area had taken a downturn along with the economy.
As its president in 2008, Ginny led the Southwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association into the electronic age, overseeing the development of the chapter’s new website, blog and social media accounts. She currently sits on the statewide association’s Executive Committee.
Ginny has seen first-hand, through her own business and that of her clients, the benefits of engaging in social media channels such as Twitter. At the same time she understands the need to effectively apply the limited resources of a solopreneur or small business owner and knows the key to maximizing the investment of those resources lies in tried and true best business practices and strategic planning. With these tools in hand you can manage your reputation, generate leads, grow your business and contribute to the conversation.
