Twitter is changing the way we do business. It is a tool that is relatively simple to use–but has profound and complex implications for how we interact with our customers and communicate both inside and outside the organization. It is changing the organizational power structure, and forcing us to re-think our organizational cultures and policies.
We all know that people are passionate about Twitter. I have found that the people leading their organizations into the real-time web are passionate about their jobs, too. They believe that they can use micro-blogging to create deeper connections, that they can use real-time search to create new business models. They have the leadership skills to convince their companies to move into uncharted territory and take risks. They are transforming their organization’s culture and business model. Some of them believe they are changing the world.
TWTRCON DC 09 will be about the people who are leading this real-time revolution, and we’ve chosen “The Real-Time Revolution” as our theme for the TWTRCON DC 09 program agenda. If you’re leading a real-time revolution at your organization–or thinking about starting one–we’d love to see you in DC on October 22.
