TWTRCON has become known for its focus on Twitter business case studies and speakers who have blazed new ground in managing real-time marketing, customer service, communications, fund-raising and sales strategies for their organization.
At TWTRCON NY, we plan to feature participants who represent brands, government and non-profit organizations from across a variety of industries and company sizes, and we really look forward to learning about some of the latest business applications they’ve found for Twitter and other real-time web technologies.
In addition to the business case studies, we also plan to zero in and get a little more technical in a couple of areas that we think will impact business strategies in the near future: search and geo-location.
1. Search: Twitter content has recently begun appearing in Google and Bing search results. We haven’t even begun to see the impact of this on search marketing strategies, but by the time we get to June, there should be some good information to share about how social will change SEO. We are inviting speakers from some of the leading search and social platforms to talk about how they plan to weight search results as they incorporate more social content.
2. Geo-location: services such as Gowalla and Foursquare that combine location and the social web are growing exponentially, and Twitter has recently added a geo-location feature to its platform — and brands are starting to experiment with incentives and promotions around these platforms. Will consumers really be willing to publicly share their location? How can brands, non-profits and government agencies leverage these platforms to drive retail store traffic or organize stakeholders? Speakers for this panel will include representatives from companies such as Gowalla and SimpleGeo; we are also inviting a few brands that have begun experimenting with ways to leverage these services to create new incentive programs.
What do you think? Do you agree that it is worth spending time on these two topics? Are there other topics that you think we need to be sure to include? We love feedback, so tweet us at #TWTRCON or comment on this post!
