- We mean business. Twitter and the real-time web is changing the way companies, non-profits and government connect with their customers and stakeholders. TWTRCON is entirely dedicated to best practices, case studies and the latest tools to help your organization create a real-time community and use Twitter to drive your bottom line.
- Cutting-edge real-time business strategies. Want to hear how location-based networking can fit into your business strategy? Don’t miss Right Time, Right Place, in which the CEO’s of Foursquare, Gowalla and SimpleGeo, along with Brad Nelson of Starbucks and Mashable’s Adam Ostrowwill talk about best-practices for location-based marketing. Want to know how the real-time web is changing search marketing strategies? David Berkowitz will be interviewing Google’s Search Product Manager Dylan Casey. What about ROI or customer service? We have case studies from Dell, TurboTax, panels that feature PepsiCo, Newell Rubbermaid, NASA and other pioneering real-time brands, and keynotes from JetBlue and Twitter for Business pioneer Laura @pistachio Fitton.
- @MarthaStewart. Seriously. We know some of you are coming primarily to hear Martha be interviewed by David Pogue. We’re huge fans: she’s been a media entrepreneur for years, has embraced technology and used it to drive her brand and her business, and her tweets are personal and authentic, typos and all. We think this will be a killer session.
- Awesome, Interesting Sponsors and Expo Area. In May of 2009, when we launched TWTRCON, we had Twitter app startups who were signing up for Bootstrap sponsorships on their credit card. A year later, CoTweet has grown up to be an Anchor Sponsor, mainstream brands such as AT&T, Toyota, TurboTax and Dell are showing their support of the community by getting involved with TWTRCON, and integrated marketing and media platforms such as myYearbook, Strong Mail and Tap 11 are offering solutions to help marketing and PR pros integrate the real-time web into their overall workflow. We really look forward to seeing some of the latest features from these and other sponsors in the TWTRCON demo area and in their mini sessions.
- IRL Networking. Check out Who’s Coming. Don’t you want to meet these people? We can’t wait! We have plenty of networking time built in (breakfast, breaks, lunch, and parties). Attendees will be sitting at round tables , and you can even pick a table theme so you’ll be sitting with other people interested in the same topic.
- Stay Juiced and Connected. We are providing–courtesy of AT&T – thank you!–power strips and free wireless for TWTRCON NY attendees. The Hilton NY tells us they will be able to handle 500 online tweeps, so we’ll be shocked and impressed if you can take the network down!
- Fun, Fun, Fun (Till Daddy Takes Your Twitter Away). TWTRCON NY runs from 8 am, when we kick off with Laura Fitton’s Twitter for Business 101 pre-conference, until 5:30 pm. Right after the event, there will be an after-party with beer, wine, and yummy appetizers, hosted by Toyota. At 7 pm, we’ll head over to the TweetUp at RubyFoo’s, sponsored by Dell, who is also inviting NY-based educators to join the party. (If you haven’t yet RSVP’d for this, we are unfortunately sold out, but maybe come buy a drink so you can keep networking.) Then, the party continues with the TWTRCON Toyota RapUp at the Blue Owl NYC, starting at 9:30 pm. Want more details? Check in at TWTRCON, or follow us #twtrcon. What we can tell you: the event is being produced by MVMT, so get ready to dance.
- Buzz. Maybe it’s New York. We have had incredible press interest in this event. Don’t be surprised if you bump into a few camera crews or find yourself being interviewed for a documentary.
- We Need You! There’s a reason that the TWTRCON agenda is very light on “social media gurus.”
There is no such thing as a social media expert. We love Twitter and the real-time web because there is no right and wrong way to do it–just a lot of questions, cool ideas and people willing toshare their thoughts. We want to hear what your ideas and questions are, which is why we are
building in tons of time for q&a discussions, and even have an Open Mike session where everyone will have a chance to go on stage. It’ll be more fun if you’re part of the conversation! - Get a TWTRCON NY 10 Sticker. Just because you’re a #geekatheart.
See you on Monday!
