Twitter for Business 101 (Part 2 of 6)

Offering a brief history of Twitter (and Twitter stats) from the very first tweet to now nearly 20 billion tweets, Fitton states that 87% of US population is brand-aware of Twitter. There are 65 million tweets a day.

Twitter is changing media and Fitton provides examples of it’s ‘crazy’ ability to get data across the globe, to send photo or video evidence from anywhere in the world through an open platform. She sees Twitter as an end to human isolation to a certain extent, and as people come together through this real-time platform, it will fundamentally change how things get bought and sold.

Fitton also touches on the vast amount of Twitter applications and tools available for the public and for businesses, making it easier for people to use Twitter, and easier for you to adapt it to your business. Twitter is not just another place to advertise –it IS different and allows a greater connection to consumers.
