The 10 countries adding the largest percentage of new users in August 2010 accounted for a little more than half of Facebook’s total growth in August, sending 14.7 million new monthly active users to the network–which is almost double what the top 10 added in July.
The United States added nearly 5 million new monthly active users, a growth rate of 3.9%. India saw the highest percentage growth (14.3%), followed by Brazil (13.4%) and Mexico (12.3%).
The highest penetration is in Canada, with 49.2%, followed by the United Kingdom, at 45.4%, and the United States, at 43.8%.
