Last week, Twitter marked the end of the first quarter by tweeting out updated Q1 stats for 2011. The highlights:
- Twitter saw a 41% increase in tweets per day for the quarter, 38% increase in tweets per day in the U.S.
- There was a 52% increase in monthly Twitter account signups from December to March, 57% increase in monthly signups in the US
Twitter showed significant growth in mobile:
- 50% increase in monthly unique mobile signups
- Mobile Twitter app monthly users increased: 104% Android, 72% iPad, 55% iPhone, 51% Blackberry
The biggest news:
Twitter is now seeing 155 million tweets a day. This is up from 55 million one year ago, and 140 million just a few weeks ago, as reported by TechCrunch.
