New data from realtime social media tracker Trendrr measures the top broadcast networks, cable networks and TV shows based on social interaction in June 2011. The two big winners were NBC’s hit The Voice, now the most social show on broadcast TV with nearly 19% of social activity, and the BET Awards, which drew 1.4 million social impressions and nearly one-quarter – 24% – of the social activity for cable TV shows.
The BET Awards’ strong social showing helped the event to rank first out of cable shows, and helped BET rank as the most social cable network.
The Voice’s impressive social presence helped NBC maintain a significant lead over other broadcast networks in terms of social activity – at nearly 48%, NBC had more than twice the social activity of runner-up Fox, with 23%.
The data was pulled from the Trendrr.tv social TV index, which ranks shows by their activity across a variety of social networks, including Twitter mentions, public Facebook posts, Miso and GetGlue check-ins.
