Are Google+ Users Engaged?
Google+ has over 40 million users, and within the last 100 days they’ve uploaded 3.4 billion photographs to the social networking service, according to Vic Gundotra, Google’s SVP of social, at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco this past Wednesday. While Mashable compares this to the 6 billion photos being added to Facebook every month (and 100 billion photos in the archives), it’s still a pretty impressive number, especially considering that Google+ only opened to the public on September 20.
250 Million Tweets A Day
Twitter’s CEO Dick Costolo also shared some new Twitter stats at Web 2.0:
- Twitter has more than 100 million active users, half of them log in daily (up from 30% in early 2011)
- Twitter sees nearly 250 million tweets per day (up from 200 million in June, and 100 million in January 2011)
- Signups to Twitter via iOS devices have tripled since the launch of Apple’s iOS 5, which directly integrates Twitter
