A recent comScore study analyzed the use of social networks and blogs via mobile among EU smartphone users. Averaged over three months ending in October 2011, over 45% of EU smartphone users accessed a social networking site or blog.
UK smartphone users were the most social, with 61% using social networks or blogs via mobile. Only 35% do so in Italy, making it the least social via smartphone out of the EU5.
