38% of Users Access Facebook Via Mobile Apps

January 3, 2012

Monthly active users of Facebook’s mobile apps have recently passed 300 million, meaning that 37.5% of Facebook’s 800 million-strong user base are now accessing the social network via mobile apps.

Active Users of Facebok apps via Enders Analysis, TechCrunch

Back in September, Facebook had announced that 350 million users accessed Facebook via mobile: 250 million through mobile apps and the remaining 100 million via the mobile web.  At that time, 70% of mobile users and 30% of all users used mobile apps to access Facebook, according to data from Benedict Evans for Enders Analysis.

Within the last few months, Facebook’s mobile app users have grown another 50 million+ to reach 300 million, and we agree with TechCrunch that this level of growth is “impressive.”

The next question: how many users access Facebook exclusively via mobile?
