Swarovski is partnering with SCVNGR to launch a treasure hunt across London on Saturday, Sept 24, to celebrate the London launch of ‘Discover Your Light,’ the company’s “exciting move into cinema.” This campaign marks the first time that SCVNGR has offered an event-based challenge outside of the U.S.
How this social media ‘treasure hunt’ works:
- individuals must download an iPhone or Android app to participate, and register in teams of 2 at swarovski.tv/discoveryourlight
- 2-person teams are given gift bags to collect hidden Swarovski presents (including perfume samples and bracelets) at 40 ‘secret locations’ in and around local landmarks
- competitors who complete all of the challenges will collect goods valued at approximately $1,000 per person
- 6 grand prize winners (three two-person teams) will win a trip to Kristallwelten, Austria and a five-night stay in a fashion capital such as Paris, Florence, Barcelona or Istanbul, and an exclusive tour of Swarovski’s Crystal World
Swarovski is limiting the playing field, with registration capped at 1,300 people. The treasure hunt will run for 3 hours, and begins and ends at Lawrence Hall at the Royal Horticultural Halls and Conference Center, as reported by Mashable.
Will capping the event make it more exclusive and motivate Swarovski fans to participate, along with those glimmering prizes?
This is only SCVNGR’s second major partnership outside the U.S. TopShop (also based in the UK) is also running SCVNGR challenges in its stores for back-to-school students.
