Everyone needs some good news; some weeks more than others. And in a week filled with Marathon Bombers, Waco Explosions and a Boston city-wide lock-down, I was definitely happy to learn about a company that is entirely dedicated to spreading good news.
HooplaHa’s mission is simple: to make people smile as much as possible. “Whether it be a bit of good news, an inspirational story, a fun video, a cute picture or a touching piece of music – we want to put a smile on your face!” explains their web site. There’s even a simple infographic that captures this mission–and even made me smile.
About a month ago, the site launched a campaign to encourage users to post Vine videos using the hashtag #GivingVine to document and spread random acts of kindness.
For Earth Day (coming up on April 22 — what are you doing to celebrate?), HooplaHa has teamed up with the Earth Day Network and their A Billion Acts of Green Campaign to do and encourage Earth-friendly acts of kindness. To participate, just record your Earth Day act of kindness using Vine, and post the video to Twitter with the #GivingVine hashtag.
To kick things off, the HooplaHa team recorded some #GivingVine videos of their own.
Will the campaign save the planet? Hey, every little bit helps. And I’ll be adding my #GivingVine contribution this weekend. Do feel-good campaigns like this work to get people to share good news about your cause or your brand? Well – I just did, right?
Have a great weekend, everyone. After a tough week, it’s time to go put a smile on someone’s face and share some positive news.
